The start of the works for the third lot of renovation of the streets of Quartu Sant'Elena is expected within the month of July - after the conclusion of the tender - interventions which concern 14 streets between the urban center and the coast : a total of 15 kilometres.

«We have proceeded to open the envelopes - explains the municipal councilor for Public Works Antonio Conti - We will proceed with the provisional award and in the absence of appeals we will proceed with the delivery subject to legal reservations. We expect to start the works within the month of July ». A small postponement compared to the date initially assumed for June: «But in reality it is a question of fully amortized time: next year there will be no tender because the one just concluded is part of the three-year Framework Program Agreement for the maintenance of city streets and roads and is therefore worth two years.

In short, therefore, the works will start in nine streets of the city including the very central via Eligio Porcu, in the section from via Umberto I to via Merello, via Perra, via Foscolo, via Eleonora d'Arborea, via Bonaria, Via Trento, via Mameli, via Pola and via Mori, where the renovation of the central downspout is also planned.

Along the coast, the main streets affected by the major interventions will be Via dei Mughetti, via dei Nasturzi, via Is Ammostos, via San Giovanni, as well as the link road in front of the roadman's house . But it cannot be excluded, as already happened for the previous lots, that other routes and other maintenance works may be included in the folds of any decreases.

Furthermore, yesterday the Giunta approved the DIP, Planning guidelines document, preparatory to the feasibility project for the restoration of the safety barriers and borders of the Lungosaline in Viale Colombo, in the section from via Beethoven to the roundabout of the former Bussola. An 80 thousand euro intervention which, the administrators add, «always falls within the Extraordinary Maintenance of roads, sidewalks and urban furnishings which will refurbish the "walkway" of the Quartesi towards the sea. In this case, the works will begin immediately after September, in order not to hinder the tourist season which has now begun», concludes Conti.
