Moments of apprehension today in Quartu, where a vegetation fire and large piles of stubble threatened greenhouses and homes near Viale Leonardo Da Vinci, along Provincial Road 17.

The alarm was raised around 2 pm: teams from the Cagliari provincial fire brigade command intervened on the scene.

The flames, fanned by the wind, threatened to spread rapidly to nearby structures, but firefighters' intervention prevented damage to the greenhouses and surrounding properties.

The firefighting operations required the use of a special tracked vehicle from the GOS (Special Earth Movement Operations Group), which was used to collect and secure the piles of stubble and brushwood. At the same time, the remediation of the remaining fires began to prevent further outbreaks.

Alongside the firefighters , the Forestry Corps and a team of volunteers from the Civil Protection of the regional fire-fighting system also participated in the operations.
