Cycle paths, sidewalks, a new roundabout at the crossroads with via Majorana, and in the future the passage of the light rail system. Everything is ready for the new Viale Marconi : after the go ahead for the project, complete with an urban planning variant approved by the Quartu City Council, the Metropolitan City has now entrusted the work.

A first batch of 2 and a half million financed by the Region. "We are very satisfied with this work which will quickly redevelop and secure the section of the viale Marconi road axis falling within the territory of the Municipalities of Quartucciu and Quartu Sant'Elena", comments the metropolitan councilor delegated to traffic Antonello Floris. "The intervention will also improve the flow conditions of vehicular traffic, with the consequent reduction of journey times".

The construction sites, which will start in the spring, will be concentrated in the stretch of avenue that runs from the entrance to the city - from via De Gasperi - to the shopping centre. These range from the adaptation of access to the commercial area with the creation of a new exit lane on Viale Marconi, up to the creation of cycle paths and the connection with the slow mobility tracks already present in the Municipality of Quartucciu. The focus is then on safe pedestrian paths between viale Marconi and Is Pontis Paris. The project also mentions "three new lay-bys for local public transport towards Cagliari, in order not to hinder the ordinary vehicular flow", and the completion of via Majorana, in the section between viale Marconi and via Galvani. Not only that: there will also be a roundabout at the crossroads with the new via Majorana, a cycle-pedestrian avenue with the adjustment of the lanes towards Cagliari, a new public lighting system, cycle-pedestrian crossings with synchronized traffic lights. And via Fermi will become a one-way street up to via Galvani.
