A large crowd and great emotion gathered this afternoon at the funeral of Roberto Basciu, the 45-year-old worker who was the victim of a fatal accident on provincial road 95 near "S'ecca s'arrideli" in the Quartu countryside on Saturday morning: his motorcycle crashed into a car.

A tragedy, recalled parish priest Don Davide Collu of San Luca parish in Margine Rosso, which brought infinite pain to a family who was building their future. One of Roberto's dreams was to have a large garden around his home. Now, the priest said, he can watch over his family from the garden of heaven.

There was great emotion in the enormous church, packed with relatives and friends who wanted to pay their last respects to the worker.

The investigation coordinated by Captain Massimo Valtan of the Quartu Local Police is expected to conclude tomorrow .
