It's Pratobello24 day. Today, the proponents and committees will be hearing before the joint session of the Fourth and Fifth Committees (chaired by Roberto Li Gioi of the Five Star Movement and Antonio Solinas of the Democratic Party, responsible for industry). It will now be necessary to understand, also in light of the events that will shape Sardinian politics in the short term, and the internal balance of power within the majority governing the island, how to address the emergency of the onslaught of renewables. Given that the Democratic Party, through Antonio Solinas, president of the Fifth Committee, has consistently maintained that a full adoption of Pratobello24 is difficult , it could, however, form the basis of a new, fail-safe bill that the Regional Council is preparing to draft.
"The Regional Council is challenging the government's Renewable Energy Decree and is working on a new law," Campo Largo announced. Challenging the Decree is considered a necessary step to restart the landscape protection process in the face of a changed regulatory landscape.
"It was a grave mistake, even a political one, to ignore the Pratobello 24 law for so long," criticized the center-right. Controversy also erupted over the announcement of the government's imminent challenge to the Renewable Energy Decree : "They praise the government on the revenue dispute while they clash over energy: a schizophrenic attitude that is unacceptable."
The hearing
In defense of the proposed popular initiative bill with 211,000 signatures, Orgosolo Mayor Pasquale Mereu, nine committees (specifically those of Nuoro, Orgosolo, Gallura, and Sarcidano) , and another association considered equivalent to committees, the Permanent Presidium of the Sardinian People, intervened. Three other groups then asked to intervene. "The council is challenging the government's Renewable Energy Decree and is working on a new law."
The motion
Meanwhile, yesterday, the Cagliari City Council failed to discuss the Pratobello 2026 motion, presented by Marcello Corrias (Mixed Group), which will be discussed as the first item on next Tuesday's agenda, and which Mayor Massimo Zedda is also said to support. The motion has now been approved by the Metropolitan City of Cagliari. Along with Roberto Mura, Cagliari City Councilor, Gianluca Dessì, Mayor of Villasimius, and Raffaele Onnis, Metropolitan Councilor, have signed the Pratobello 2026 Plan.
