But the theft was just the beginning. The main access road to Prato Sardo was blocked with two chains, attached to a central pole and then attached to the guard rails, physically preventing vehicles from passing.

Acting as a barrier, some white sheets with an unmistakable red slogan: "Block the plants or we block the industries."

A threatening message, suggesting an organized protest. But it doesn't end there. A few meters further on, a gas cylinder was placed next to what appears to be a makeshift explosive device. The bomb squad intervened immediately: the area was cordoned off and secured.
