A quiet evening dedicated to shopping turned into a misadventure for a woman, attacked and bitten by a dog, kept on a leash by the owner who ran away. The episode occurred last Friday in Porto Torres.

It was just 8pm, the closing time of commercial activities, when in via Giovanni Pierluigi Da Palestrina, at the entrance to a market, in the area in front of McDonald's, a 70-year-old woman, Liliana Sannino, was attacked by a dog who, unprovoked, attacked her leg with a bite that caused a deep wound on her left thigh.

The doctors on duty at the Medical Guard assigned her 13 days of treatment for a lacerated and bruised injury. In the general commotion, the dog's owner had disappeared without helping the woman.

«I was at the entrance to the shop with my daughter, when the dog suddenly jumped on me and bit my leg», says the woman, «an immense pain, I bent forward and couldn't walk. I was losing a lot of blood, but despite this the owner, together with his wife, did not want to believe that the animal had attacked me, indeed in an attempt to make the matter less likely they also wanted to make sure that there was an injury. So caught up in the moment of panic, we didn't think to take the details of the gentlemen, who promised me that they would join me at the Medical Guard".

In reality, the owners of the dogs, to escape their responsibilities, disappeared. «A behavior that greatly disappointed me», comments the woman, who did not hesitate to report the episode to the police of the Porto Torres company.

The military is investigating the incident, also examining the images of the cameras positioned outside the business.
