Wild boars also roam in the areas of particular architectural value of Porto Torres, areas where the Roman Bridge stands and the latest excavations which have brought to light the river docks of the Roman port. You can find them everywhere now. They emerge from the nearby countryside, especially during the night. But there are those who have also spotted them during the day.

The area between via Ponte Romano and via Funtana Vecchia is invaded by entire families of wild boars who go for a walk among the archaeological beauties of the city. They cross the ancient bridge and reach the entrance to the archaeological area of Turris Libissonis, they find an open passage and enter among the finds and excavations where the ancient Roman colony developed.

There are many passers-by who tell of encounters with animals, some of which are large, which venture through the streets and the nearby countryside, among the weeds which have grown enormously this season, also covering the prestigious works which are the subject of archaeological excavations which, according to plans, they should be reopened in these days for the continuation of the works.
