Porto Torres: Tripping on the Sidewalk, Falls and Ends Up in Hospital

He trips on the sidewalk, falls to the ground and ends up in hospital.

The accident occurred in the afternoon, around 3.30 pm, along Corso Vittorio Emanuele, in the heart of the city of Porto Torres.

The protagonist of the unfortunate episode was an 80-year-old pensioner who was walking in the city centre when, at the crossroads with Via Cavour, while trying to avoid some obstacles, he came across a concrete base and fell heavily to the ground.

Immediate help from some passers-by who alerted 118 and the local police. After receiving first aid from health workers, the man was transferred to the emergency room of the Santissima Annunziata in Sassari with the Avis Porto Torres ambulance.

Doctors found a fractured shoulder and some abrasions. On site, municipal police officers regulated traffic.
