He should have used the money received from the state to renovate his pizzeria. And instead he spent it on other things.

The owner of a restaurant in Porto Torres is in trouble, the beneficiary of 60 thousand euros in public contributions and funding from the measure for young people in the South called "Resto al Sud". Money that should have been used for renovation costs and the purchase of equipment and machinery necessary for the business.

However, according to the checks carried out by the Alghero Company, coordinated by the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza of Sassari, part of those public contributions, disbursed by the Department for Cohesion Policies of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, had been used for very different purposes. Through cash withdrawals and ATM payments, "a significant amount of money was allocated to personal expenses unrelated to business activities".

At the end of the investigation, the owner of the pizzeria was reported to the competent Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Sassari, for the crime of embezzlement of public funds for an amount of approximately 17 thousand euros.
