Physical contact after the distance imposed by the pandemic , the need to remain united to overcome a difficult historical moment. These are the main meanings of the statue "L'Abbraccio" donated to the city of Porto Torres by the sculptor Odo Tinteri .

The municipal administration today presented the work to the community, placing it in a symbolic place dear to the Turritans: the Rocca manna di Balai, a site that ideally embraces the territory and the entire Gulf of Asinara. The sculpture, made with Fordongianus white trachyte , was discovered during a cultural event organized by the Municipality that saw the students of the "Comprehensive Institute 2" perform a repertoire of classical music and soundtracks, while the actresses of the association "La Camera Chiara" have read poems and texts dedicated to the theme of the embrace.

The event was attended by the mayor Massimo Mulas , the deputy mayor Simona Fois and the councilor for culture Maria Bastiana Cocco who gave Tinteri a plaque as a form of thanks. Born on the island, the artist has lived in Genoa since 1957 where he began his artistic career which brought his works to public and private galleries around the world.

For Porto Torres he had made eighteen stone tablets dedicated to the martyrdom of Gavino, Proto and Gianuario and placed in the streets and along the promenade of the city. For Tinteri "this embrace is a story that becomes poetry".
