Gavino Giordo, a passionate trade unionist originally from Porto Torres, who for many years served in the CGIL union, has passed away at the age of 64. A sudden death caused by a fulminant heart attack.

President of the provincial executive of Fillea CGIL he had moved on to the UIL trade union organization, where he held the position of union manager as a regional member of Feneal UIl and delegate for the same union at Edicom, a company that operates in the industrial area of Porto Torres. Still operational, he had decided to stay in business, postponing the date of leave from the world of work.

«We are losing a hard worker, a generous and altruistic person - comments Marco Foddai, secretary general Feneal Uil -, a trade unionist with a tangible passion for the democratic values and the union that represented the figure of his life. He believed in the battles for the defense of workers' rights, always at the forefront of the struggles to protect the workers of the former Petrochemical". He had participated in the great mobilization on the Green Chemistry disputes, Health, territorial continuity and the issues that in recent months have seen the CGIL, CISL and UIL trade union organizations as protagonists, the mayors of the territory, the Tips, the social and employer forces for the emergency in Northern Sardinia.
