Fire in the semi-trailer ready to embark on the quay of the “Asi Riva” pier in Porto Torres. This is the successful simulation that took place this morning in the industrial port: a fire drill aimed at testing the operational readiness and response capacity of all the actors involved in the management of port emergencies.

The exercise simulated the start of a fire on a semi-trailer waiting to be loaded, in the port yard in front of the Asi dock near a port shipyard . The handling personnel informed the Operations Room for urgent intervention, in an attempt to prevent further damage to the same vehicle and the possible spread of the flames to other vehicles stationary in the port area. The exercise aimed to familiarize all the actors involved in the event of a fire on the dock, as well as verify the efficiency of the entire fire safety, assistance and rescue organization.

At the end of the exercise, the general organization of the port fire service gave satisfactory results . The event reaffirmed the importance of synergy and collaboration between all the forces involved in port security, confirming the high standard of preparation and coordination in emergency management.
