It is one of the largest finds of waste found on the outskirts of Porto Torres.

A mountain of harmful material unloaded by private citizens in the area of the former slaughterhouse, an ecological bomb made up of dozens of bulky, stacked bicycles, building material waste, various residues, polluting waste that represent an environmental threat.

The illegal maxi-dump is the result of illegal deposits by unscrupulous people who defy the law and the consequence, once again, is the risk weighing on citizens' health.

However, such a large landfill does not appear overnight, given the large amount of material of various kinds accumulated.

The council group of the Sardinian Action Party denounces it: "In that area where degradation reigns, a family of three lives, known to the municipal administration for being serial accumulators of waste, costing the communities hundreds of thousands of euros to the reclamation of another site, where the family was resident".

«And to pay – underline the councilors Bastianino Spanu and Alessandro Pantaleo – this time too will be the citizens. We believe that it is urgently necessary to provide for the removal of waste to avoid an increase in the already evident environmental damage: in addition to the problem of reclaiming the site, there is the emergency of securing the family who reside there, activating all the procedures foreseen by law for these specific cases".

For the Sardinian exponents "today the situation has considerably worsened due to the lack of vigilance by the municipal administration which, in our opinion, knowing the serious problems of this family, should have taken action to avoid a repetition of the events".

The state of the landfill, tons of garbage that form a mountain over three meters high, causes a serious problem for the environmental matrices of the soil, subsoil, water and air, and a risk to the health of the very family that resides there.
