The waters of the Porto Torres coast, from Acque Dolci up to Pl atamona are crystalline, nothing to envy to the clearest of Sardinia. The situation is not even comparable to that of the years of the first petrochemical, when any type of dangerous waste was discharged into the sea. Too bad that every now and then some passing ships or boats ruin everything , in which the crew has the bad habit of cleaning the holds and draining the water with oily and hydrocarbon residues directly into the sea . The result is the polluting and dangerous foams that, pushed by the current, settle on the shoreline.

For long stretches, as happened this morning, especially behind the beautiful Balai beach. For these foams, in places such as Ponte and Masso Caduto , it was now impossible to even swim.

The disappointment of bathers is strong. "Unfortunately, the habit of discharging oily residues into the sea has resumed in an alarming way - they say in chorus -. Controls and sanctions should be intensified. Our beautiful stretch of coastline must be protected and preserved by those who do not care highly of the environment ".
