Over a century of life , but only at the registry office, a vitality that has always distinguished him throughout his career. The knight Antonio Carboni has reached the milestone of 104 years , he celebrated in his home in Porto Torres with a smile his imaginative stories still capable of attracting the attention of those who listen to him. Around the next of kin, a cake with candles and a great desire to tell more stories.

His long life is marked by an interesting professional and political path : three times municipal councilor and councilor of the former Christian Democracy. He worked for Ilva, the company that managed the Canaglia mines. Having become a counselor at the Biccheddu nursery school, he also wrote a book, becoming a knight of the Republic , a title accompanied by a gold medal which was given to him by the then head of state, Antonio Segni.

He can be considered one of the oldest members of the National Sailors' Association of Italy. He became CGIL secretary after the war, holding the position of president of the Combattenti e Reduci foundation in 1960.
