The second negotiated procedure for the concession of the public maritime connection service with Asinara, the Porto Torres-Cala Reale line, is also deserted.

This was communicated by the Region, in a note, which reads: «On the expiry of the deadline for the presentation of offers, on 17 February last, no offers arrived from Ensamar, the only shipping company that had expressed interest in participating in response to the market survey called for the identification of economic operators to be invited. The two negotiated procedures had been preceded by an open tender, called on December 22, 2021, which also went deserted".

"Once again - underlines the regional councilor for transport, Antonio Moro, in a letter sent to the prefect of Sassari and to the mayor of Porto Torres - attention is drawn to the generalized, serious and persistent market failure resulting from the acclaimed lack of interest, shown by the shipping companies with respect to the participation in the procedures for awarding the services carried out over the last few years".

"This serious situation, which adds to the one already communicated for the connections to and from the smaller islands of San Pietro and La Maddalena, entails and confirms the need to identify a solution that guarantees the essential right to mobility to and from the islands of the Sardinia», concludes councilor Moro.
