Off to the "Balearic model" : the Council launches direct contributions to passengers residing in Sardinia .

For the moment the aid, from 25 to 75 euros per ticket, will be dedicated to under 26s and over 65s , on all European national and international routes with the exception of those with territorial continuity (Rome and Milan). Refunds will be paid from February 2024 but it will be possible to request the contribution, on a regional portal which can be accessed with Spid, already for flights purchased starting from today.

How much is the Region's help worth? Here is the scheme: 25 euros for tickets paid between 100 and 125 euros; 50 euros if the flight is between 125 and 175 euros; 75 euros if the price is higher (up to 500 euros). The project of contributions to airlines to reduce airport costs is also taking shape .

“The goal is to support 20 new routes,” said governor Christian Solinas in presenting the measures. To make the plan operational, the green light from the transport commission of the regional council will first be needed. Then a team of experts from the Region will decide which routes will be able to receive the contributions and finally the public tender for the provision of the incentives will be prepared.

«We hope to overcome the critical issues of the winter season, in which there are fewer connections. The new routes should be mainly international, added Transport Councilor Antonio Moro.
