The number of centenarians is growing in Gallura: in recent days , Golfo Aranci and Berchidda have celebrated the century (and beyond) of two fellow citizens , to whom the best wishes of the municipal administrations of the two towns have reached them.

Today, Berchidda blows out 103 candles together with Peppina Achenza , born in 1921. Born in the town at the foot of the Limbara, who moved to Monte in the 1960s, Peppina has 51 great-grandchildren, now in their third generation .

A life dedicated to work in the countryside, she still cooks, reads and embroiders with a certain precision . «Lover of flowers, we hope to be able to take care of them again with the same passion as always», writes the mayor, Andrea Nieddu , bringing best wishes to the entire municipal administration.

And two days ago, Aurelia Framingheddu , hosted in the San Giuseppe retirement home in Golfo Aranci, celebrated 100 years ago . «In the administrative career of a mayor, very beautiful events can happen: it was an honor to be able to be next to Mrs. Aurelia and her family on the day she celebrated 100 years of life, together with the nuns and the staff of the retirement home, I wished her a long and peaceful old age in our beautiful structure", wrote the mayor, Mario Mulas, on social media.
