The funeral of Remesha Martin Elvis King , the 31-year-old who died after being hit by a bus in Viale Diaz , will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10.30 in the church of Sant'Eulalia in Cagliari. The young man was seriously injured at dawn on Saturday: the next day his heart stopped beating.

His mother and sister have given permission to donate Martin's organs which will give hope to other people.

Many will want to say goodbye to a young man known in the city : he worked as a bartender in several places in the historic center and his last job was in a bar in Piazza Yenne . Born in Burundi, he arrived in Cagliari as a child, following his mother, a magistrate, who fled his country and became a political refugee. In fact he was a Cagliari, appreciated by many for his past as a cultural mediator and for his great passion for poetry and cinema .

THE TRAGEDY - According to the reconstruction of the Local Police, Martin and a friend of his were returning home . In viale Diaz they saw the bus arriving and started running towards the stop. The girl dropped her glasses, ended up on the asphalt, off the sidewalk . The young man would have bent down to pick them up, leaning from the sidewalk or perhaps going down the step (the investigation will tell), and the bus at that point hit him violently on the head.

A carabiniere, who was reaching the barracks in via Nuoro to take up service, stopped and practicing heart massage saved his life at least at first. Accompanied urgently to the Brotzu, he underwent a delicate surgery . His condition has always been desperate. On Sunday afternoon, his heart stopped beating. The investigation will now have to clarify all aspects of the tragedy: the bus driver, due deed, was entered in the register of suspects on the charge of culpable road homicide .
