The collaboration between the Sardinian territorial management of the Customs and Monopolies Agency (ADM) and the Porto Conte Regional Park continues. The marine artifacts seized in the years 2021 and 2022 by the staff of the Sassari Customs office serving at the Alghero Territorial Operations Section have been delivered these days.

300 kilos of sand, shells, portions of rocks , which will be relocated by the staff of the Environmental Education Center of the Porto Conte Park and Capo Caccia - Isola Marine Protected Area, in the sites where they were taken with the involvement of the relevant municipal administrations and of local school groups.

The two entities had signed a memorandum of understanding precisely to promote awareness-raising actions against the serious phenomenon of the removal of sand, pebbles and shells from the Sardinian coasts . There is a 2017 law that provides for hefty fines.

"Anyone who removes, holds, sells even small quantities of sand, pebbles, stones or shells from the coast or the sea in the absence of a regular authorization or concession issued by the competent authorities - the authorities say - is subject to an administrative fine ranging from 500 euros to 3,000 euros".
