Fire emergency: over five and a half hectares of vegetation and reeds in smoke.

Even today the plague forced the forestry and firefighters to work overtime. The first alarm went off yesterday night when a fire broke out in the area of Bari Sardo, between the countryside of Santa Lucia and Is Castangias, upstream from the Orientale.

Here, near the Rio Mannu, the fire has devoured 2.5 hectares of reeds and vegetation, also threatening some homes.

While the firefighting teams were still busy this morning in Bari Sardo , the second emergency arose due to a fire that broke out downstream from Talana , between the Sant'Efisio area, provincial road 56 and Su Padentinu.

The final balance is 3 hectares in ash. In the early afternoon the firefighting teams, bereft of adequate Forestas personnel whose service ceased on October 31st, intervened on the Rio Foddeddu embankment, in Tortolì, for the third and final alarm of the day. Two thousand meters of reeds burned.
