Clinic closed overnight . Or rather: from Friday to Monday. An ungenerous period of time with Chiaramonti's patients who will no longer have their Ascot from June 3rd . Goodbye service, the search for a stopgap solution begins so as not to be left without treatment and healthcare. The first citizen of the town, Luigi Pinna , reported the incident and warned his fellow citizens of the incident with a post on Facebook, then pointing the finger at the decision of the Sassari local health authority, taken to «force patients to choose doctors who they currently have the clinic in Perfugas . Once again – underlines Pinna – this communication arrives coldly and quietly, in the late afternoon of Friday, without considering the serious consequences for the most fragile patients in our community".

The choice of the local health company came after a long correspondence with the administration, which repeatedly highlighted the problems of the Municipality and the growing difficulties. In April, when «the start of the service of the new general practitioners in Perfugas and the reduction of the hours of ASCoT service was announced, I expressed concern about the reduction of the hours of the ASCoT clinic and the limited availability of the new doctors, who they only operate in Perfugas. I proposed maintaining an adequate level of ASCoT service and opening a clinic also in Chiaramonti", writes the mayor. There was no shortage of requests for solutions to «guarantee the health service even at home» and «the activation of the family nurse», in a community «characterised by a high rate of seniority and difficulties in public transport. I also asked for the restoration of the 12 hours per week of ASCoT service to ensure adequate assistance."

Despite this, the closure still came . But the inconveniences don't end there because «in July there should be another retirement of a general practitioner who has more than 1500 patients. Consequently, the two doctors who are doing surgery in Perfugas will not have enough space to take care of the aforementioned doctor's patients. So the ASL of Sassari deactivates the ASCoT clinic for a month and then reactivates it in July?". «We ask all the bodies responsible for providing contributions against depopulation and reducing the birth rate not to provide any aid without first guaranteeing the necessary basic services. Without these services, our community is destined to go broke", concludes Pinna, who is already evaluating "democratic" protests.
