In Oristano, the 2026 Tarip bills are arriving at homes, while the first deadline, September 16th, has already passed. Those who receive the late payment notice, the Municipality clarifies, will be able to pay without penalty fees.

The main issue, however, is understanding how the bill was constructed. In July, Budget Councilor Simone Prevete emphasized that a general increase would not be necessary, thanks in part to the 81.68 percent waste separation rate and the €343,468 regional bonus. Yet reports of higher bills are arriving.

Antonio Cubeddu, of the Inca CGIL employers' association, says: "Despite meticulous waste sorting, my bill has reached almost €400, higher than a year ago." He adds: "It's absurd that such a significant tax is calculated based on transactions that the citizen cannot control."

The reference is to waste disposal: the fee covers 24 to 36 emptyings, depending on the household, while those exceeding the limit cost €0.070 per liter. The Municipality explains that any additional emptyings are automatically detected by the manager and transmitted to the KTarip software. Those charged in 2026 concern disposals in 2024; those in 2025 will be counted in 2027.

To verify the data, please contact the Environmental Service. However, waste disposals below the minimum do not qualify for discounts: excess amounts are simply not charged.

"The municipality should make it clear to consumers how many collections operators have made for each user," observes Giorgio Vargiu, president of Adiconsum Sardegna. "Because if those numbers determine how much you pay, they should be visible to those who pay."
