Aggravated theft of 8 thousand euros from a house against two 80-year-olds. An event which occurred in Osilo in 2017 and which, having reached trial, has now seen the accused sentenced, in court in Sassari, to 4 years and 5 months in prison, pronounced by judge Elena Barmina.

In September 6 years ago the man, a 43-year-old of non-Italian nationality, entered the home of two elderly people, brother and sister, and distracted them while, according to the prosecution, another person, who remained unknown, exploited the situation to steal the money.

The accomplice of the material executor is recognized and ends up in court having to also answer for the aggravating circumstances, such as that of "having profited", as the article of the penal code states, "of circumstances of time, place, person, also in reference to the age".

Furthermore, the 43-year-old, defended by the lawyer Antonio Pietro Sanna, has always denied having been in Osilo during the disputed period and therefore being innocent.

Prosecutor Paola Mannuzza, holding him responsible for the episode, had asked for a sentence of 5 years and 4 months for him.

The defendant's lawyer has already announced that, once the reasons for the sentence have been filed, he will appeal.
