The death of the young Dorgalese, Antonello Mereu, which took place in a marble quarry in Orosei on 13 March 2014 was «a violent and voluntary action by unknown persons» . A homicide, and not an accident at work, as had always been believed until now.

To say so the coroner of Turin Rita Celli and the engineer Stefano Ferrigno, who put it on paper in the technical report prepared by the judge of Nuoro, Alessandra Ponti, and filed in the context of the trial for the death of the young 24-year-old from Dorgali in what was thought to be an accident at work in an Orosei quarry.

The case now turns into a whodunit.

The two professionals, who will be heard in the next hearing in March, in fact go beyond hypotheses and also try to describe the attacker's action . They claim that Mereu, at work at that moment, did not notice the approach of his assassin due to the noise of the car .

Which probably acted with a pointed object, an awl, pushed on the back of the neck with a hammer and with a dry blow. A certainty that comes after the doubts that had already emerged during the investigation, when the coroner Vindice Mingioni had not ruled out the "malefice", a hypothesis which however at the time did not convince the prosecutor who pursued the path of the accident.

The consultancy today sounds almost like a sentence , and sensationally reopens the case of Mereu's death.
