A brief period of cohabitation marked by beatings, drugs, and abuse . A dramatic story that continued for about three months and ended in court after the young woman , a victim of violence, found the strength to break free and report her ex-partner , a 38-year-old man from a town in the hinterland.
The man, represented by lawyer Paolo Firinu, was ordered prohibited from using an electronic bracelet . He will appear before a judge next Tuesday for a preliminary hearing. He is charged with mistreatment, sexual assault, kidnapping, and assault .
As the victim told investigators, the relationship began last May . After a period of relative serenity, problems soon began, due to both men's alcohol and drug abuse. Arguments became increasingly frequent, often culminating in fights, insults, and physical abuse. On several occasions, the 38-year-old allegedly forced his partner to take drugs and attacked her, kicking her in the legs . Another time, he violently grabbed her by the neck , so much so that she ended up in the emergency room and then decided to end their relationship.
The most serious incident occurred in early August, when the young woman returned to her partner's house to collect some belongings. He locked her in, took her phone (to prevent her from calling for help), and raped her . Only the next morning did he free her, and she found the strength to report the incident.
Following investigations by the Flying Squad, led by Deputy Police Commissioner Samuele Cabizzosu, Judge Marco Mascia ordered a restraining order.
