Oristano's ZTL (limited traffic zone) has been postponed: signs were placed and then covered up "to avoid misunderstandings."
No step back, the Municipality specifies: only a "technical pause" to review the project after the frictions within the majorityPer restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
“The road signs at the access points to the historic center, in the area identified for the establishment of the Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL), were positioned according to the initially planned program and also following the reports submitted, they were temporarily covered in order to avoid possible misunderstandings or doubts among motorists .”
Not a step backward, but rather a technical pause to review some aspects of the project. The city administration thus clarified its decision to cover the signs installed at the access points to the historic center where the new ZTL is scheduled to come into effect. This is a temporary decision, the city council explains, linked to the need to evaluate some possible changes to the traffic regulations discussed in recent months.
About a month ago, the installation of new signage at the access points began, indicating the hours established by the resolution approved in June, which had partially modified the previous regulations for the limited traffic zone.
Meanwhile, however, the political landscape has changed. The issue of the ZTL has returned to the forefront of the internal debate within the majority, following the stance taken by some councilors who had requested a review of the measure before the gates were activated . This move was part of the political crisis that culminated in the dismissal and subsequent reconstitution of the council.
For this reason, the signs will remain temporarily covered until the ongoing checks and assessments are completed. Only after any traffic regulation adjustments have been determined will the ZTL be implemented.
The implementation of the new rules in the historic center will be accompanied by dedicated institutional communication, with the aim of ensuring maximum clarity for citizens and road users regarding access and circulation in the affected area.
