The ship which in recent days had been subjected to administrative detention by the Oristano Coast Guard was released today.

On the vessel, flying a foreign flag, investigations had been carried out by the specialized "Port State Control" nucleus as it falls within the targets of foreign merchant ships to be subjected to inspection according to the criteria established by international legislation on the subject.

Numerous irregularities and critical issues emerged during the inspection, so much so that they were arrested. The ship was able to go back to sea only once the conditions for navigating in maximum safety were restored.

Since the beginning of the year, 12 units have been detained in the port of Oristano, one of which is banned and will not be able to enter European ports until it complies with the instructions given.

Again, in recent days, the disposal operations of the "Modesto Senior" wreck were completed, by specialized companies monitored by Coast Guard personnel, recovered in February after lying for many years on the seabed in front of the former quay Bofor's industrial port.

Furthermore, in May the recovery and disposal operations of another wreck which, for years, had been stationed in the port of Oristano, was completed, namely the tugboat "Tenace". Unit that, for a long time, had operated as a tug in the Oristano port but now decommissioned by the shipping company.

Soon, to improve the maneuverability of ships entering/leaving the industrial port, the recovery and subsequent towing operations of the three caissons lying in the outer port will begin, the removal of which will allow safer maneuvering for all those ships that will have to moor in the innermost docks of the port.
