Following the serious vandalism that struck the former Mossa Institute, the Prefecture of Oristano convened the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Safety to discuss prevention strategies and support for young people. Strengthening intrusion detection systems and video surveillance, street education programs, and inclusion programs were the main solutions proposed.
"The issue of school safety cannot be reduced to a structural dimension," declared Prefect Salvatore Angieri. " Schools must also be safe as educational and inclusive environments . This is why I wanted to combine building inspections with systemic action involving schools, local authorities, and social services, to support students and foster legality and respect for the rules."
The meeting included police forces, mayors, social services managers, the Oristano Plus school, and school representatives. The meeting highlighted the importance of strengthening collaboration between institutions, schools, and families and of developing educational projects that directly involve young people, promoting participation and a culture of legality .
"The joint commitment that emerged today is an important step towards consolidating the local network for the protection and support of young people , in the knowledge that safety comes from everyone's collaboration," concluded the prefect.
