Another night spent waiting in line to secure a GP. In Oristano, the scene was repeated once again in front of the ASL headquarters on Via Carducci, where the first patients began to file in yesterday evening, ready for this morning's distribution. A total of 1,000 positions are up for grabs for two GPs , 500 patients each, in the Oristano area.

To avoid the risk of arriving late, some people chose to spend the night on site. Folding chairs, water bottles, and a few mosquito repellents became the equipment for a long wait. Some organized themselves for hours, others joined the line overnight. The result is captured in the photograph: a crowded corridor, people seated wherever possible, and patients forced to wait for hours just to secure one of the available spots.

The message posted on social media by one of the people in line captures the mood well: "I arrived late anyway, number 82." And the concern is that this time, too, spots might fill up quickly. "So I'll stay here at the risk of being told they're sold out," the patient writes.

A situation that once again raises, in a far from theoretical way, the problem of the shortage of family doctors in the area . To obtain what should be a standard healthcare service, dozens of citizens once again found themselves spending the night outside an office, turning the choice of doctor into a real race against time. And for those who arrived at Via Carducci well in advance, the day began well before the offices opened.
