Outdoor cinema at the end credits? This is what the minority councilors Francesco Federico (Oristano Democratica e Possibile), Efisio Sanna, Carla Della Volpe, Francesca Marchi (Oristano Più) and Massimiliano Daga (Democratic Party) are asking.

There is still no news about the film festival, promoted every year by the Municipality and Pro Loco.

«Last June, the city media announced the return of the open-air evening festival starting from mid-July, until August or early September - the councilors observe in a question to the mayor and the Board - in fact, now close to Ferragosto, despite the reassuring announcements of early summer, there is no confirmation of the expected and usual cinematographic cultural event , causing fears that it will not take place this year either».

The signatories recall that a year ago the city had already had to give up the long-awaited cultural event that since the 1990s, first under the name of “Summer Tales” then of “Night Effect”, has brought to the big outdoor screen films that had won awards at festivals but were rarely shown in city theaters. “The screenings, which were also held in recent years affected by the pandemic - the councilors observe - were not held in 2023, apparently due to the long, embarrassing and inconclusive political crisis of the majority” . The interpellation asks “for what reasons the festival does not seem to be taking place this year too” and at this point “whether the event is no longer part of the administration's cultural programming”.
