Oristano, going the wrong way on Viale Repubblica due to an illness: serious in his fifties

An illness prevented her from keeping control of the car and so for a few meters she drove the wrong way along the extension of Viale Repubblica, towards Oristano. A fifty-year-old ran into a street lighting pole and the car stopped on a sidewalk . She is now hospitalized at the Brotzu hospital in Cagliari.

The woman was rescued by a 118 ambulance and subsequently transferred to Cagliari hospital by air ambulance, her condition is serious.

Municipal police officers intervened. Luckily at that moment no cars were traveling along the extension towards Torregrande and thus a much more serious accident was avoided.
