Also this year the happy partnership between Cuglieri and Monumenti Aperti is renewed.

The village of Montiferru will open its doors to make known and promote its historical, cultural, architectural, secular and religious riches and also its quality agri-food. The long-awaited event is Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 May, to tell the story of the historic center, the mountains, the sea, the traditions and flavors.

You can visit and admire the riches of this treasure chest of Montiferru: from the Basilica of the Madonna della Neve with its neo-Gothic façade and the monumental cemetery to the Capuchin Convent, from the former Regional Seminary with the park and the adjoining Via Crucis to the Archaeological Museum, from the Church of the Madonna delle Grazie and the convent of the Servite friars to the Zampa family Oil Museum. Then the house-museum of Mimmia and Tommasina, among the new features the Su Telalzu a Littos Loom Museum of the Fara sisters.

For trekking and outdoor walking enthusiasts, there are historical and naturalistic itineraries: to discover the domus de janas of Serruggiu, the ancient manor of Casteddu Etzu and the sources of Tiu Memmere, the suggestive waterfall of Massabari, then the seaside villages of Santa Caterina, S'Archittu and Torre del Pozzo.

Monumenti Aperti is a project by Imago Mundi in collaboration with the Municipality of Cuglieri, local associations and the Centro Commerciale Naturale, with the patronage of the European Parliament, the Ministry of Culture, the Region of Sardinia and the Fondazione di Sardegna.
