The two bridges of via Gabriele D'Annunzio, the central artery of the road system in the center of Olbia which connects the hospital area with the San Simplicio district, will be demolished and rebuilt. The Municipality, with the assignment of the design, thus started the procedure for one of the most demanding interventions envisaged in the first phase of the hydraulic risk mitigation works, that which concerns the demolition of the so-called incongruous works, the stopper bridges on the canals, object also of an investigation by the Public Prosecutor's Office and of various seizures.

The procedure concerns the assignment of the final and executive design assignment, safety coordination in the design and execution phases, construction supervision, measurement and accounting for the demolition and construction of the road bridge over the Rio San Nicola, located on a strategic intersection. But a possible extension is also foreseen for the demolition and construction of the nearby bridge over the Zozò canal. Works that are indispensable for safety but which will have a major impact on the city's road system as happened with other interventions in the center such as the one recently completed in via Vittorio Veneto which led to the demolition and reconstruction of the bridge over the Gaddhuresu stream, in a buried section, one of the critical points of the flood of 2013. The first ever was the demolition of a ramp next to the Nespoli stadium on the Seligheddu stream.

However, the Railway node remains on Via D'Annunzio, as in other areas: next to the road bridges there are the railway bridges, which are also dangerous and to be demolished, on which no intervention has yet been started. Rfi recently communicated to the municipal administration the launch of a study to quantify the costs of the works.
