Two railway stations a few hundred meters away, one brand new and with large spaces, and an Arst terminus which is a stop without even a shelter on a narrow sidewalk: this is the surreal situation of regional public transport in Olbia, the main gateway of Sardinia.

In winter, the inconveniences concern commuter students, often forced to wait for the bus in the rain, in summer, tourists who have to reach other Gallura locations (and beyond). The buses should have found spaces in the large and functional parking lots of the new Terranova railway station, not far away, but nothing has been done yet. Today the pentastellato municipal councilor Alfideo Farina raised the case again with an interpellation signed by the entire minority.

«On April 6th, the FIT CISL Gallura - Farina writes in a note - asked the mayor for a meeting so that an institutional table could be urgently activated with the interested parties. The meeting was held on 26 April and on that occasion Nizzi, together with the manager of Public Works, guaranteed, with enthusiasm, the commitment to set up new special stalls in order to be able to transfer the vehicles of the Arst lines to the square of the new railway station , through the involvement of the investee ASPO, and to possibly proceed to implement measures to allow the vehicles room for maneuver in complete safety".

Three months have passed since then but still nothing has happened and the mayor is asked in the interpellation at what stage the transfer is. «Users and Arst employees have long been waiting for a solution to the problem. The process should start from a request for concession of the area concerned, under the responsibility of Rfi, from the Municipality. Therefore - concludes Farina - the mayor communicates certain timings regarding the activation of the new Arst terminus, or, if this is not possible, if there are any objective difficulties. From rumors, in fact , it seems that Arst, the entity most involved in the matter, is demonstrating a rigidity that is difficult to reconcile with the interest and availability of both the Municipality and Rfi ».
