The purely tourist vocation of Olbia , in particular of the historic center and the village of Porto Rotondo , makes it necessary to meet the needs of guests and citizens on vacation, guaranteeing them a stay characterized by the greatest possible tranquility. And the presence of construction sites does not reconcile with a place devoted to peace and relaxation.

The mayor Settimo Nizzi is convinced of this, and has issued an ordinance that provides for a stop to private building works , "in the historic city center and in Porto Rotondo in the period 1-20 August ".

A suspension that will not last two months as in the pre-Covid years with the aim of not interrupting construction activities for too long after the slowdowns due to the pandemic, but "a solution that we believe - Nizzi points out - is able to reconcile the different needs " .

In addition to the suspension of works in all private construction sites, the companies concerned must leave sidewalks and roads free from construction materials that may be occupied for the activities, even if authorized, and return them to public use.

The activities relating to the care of the green and the building sites relating to public works are excluded from these obligations, "due to the public utility that their construction covers" specify by the municipality of Olbia .
