A huge crowd in Nurri paid their last respects to little Lorenzo Spano, who was struck by his father's tractor. Many children were accompanied by their parents to the parish church.
The service began shortly before 4 p.m., when the coffin covered in white roses arrived accompanied by the parents, grandparents, and uncles.
"Today we entrust Lorenzo not to a tragic fate or a misfortune, but to Jesus," said Father Fabrizio Deidda during his homily. Now, he continued, "is a time of grief but also of faith."
In these hours "and in the future we must stand united, as a family and as a community."
