Yellow alert in Sardinia for hydrogeological risk related to thunderstorms. The decentralized functional center of the Regional Civil Protection has issued an ordinary criticality warning valid from midnight to 6:00 a.m. tomorrow, Monday, October 19, 2026, for the Flumendosa-Flumineddu warning area .

The warning concerns the risk of possible consequences caused by storms, with particular attention to areas crossed by waterways and points most exposed to flooding .

The Civil Protection Department requests that the safety instructions addressed to the public be disseminated as widely as possible, urging citizens to stay updated on the evolution of weather conditions and any provisions issued by local authorities.

In the event of a thunderstorm, the first recommendation is to stay indoors whenever possible . Those in basements or on the ground floor should move to upper floors, especially if the area is at risk of flooding.

Travel by car should be limited to truly urgent cases only. Even regular routes can become dangerous in heavy rains and sudden accumulations of water.

Particular attention must be paid to waterways: crossing flooded streams, either on foot or by any means, is prohibited. It is also important to avoid stopping near bridges and the banks of streams and rivers, as well as crossing underpasses that may be flooded.
