A meeting point Nuoro and Trenitalia have not yet found.

The city of Deledda continues to hold the record as the only provincial capital in Italy not to be connected to the railway line . «It needs fast connections », claims the mayor Andrea Soddu , addressing the European Parliament with a letter «so that the construction of the ordinary gauge railway is included in the Great Works plan – currently only a narrow gauge line passes through the city – which connect the capital of Barbagia to the existing section".

The message is addressed to the European Commissioner for Transport , Adina Ioana Vălean , and to the President of the Transport and Tourism Commission , Karima Delli , to request a meeting and illustrate the serious infrastructural gap that characterizes central Sardinia and the advantages that the work would entail in a territory that today is cut off from fast connections and therefore penalized in the movement of people and goods with repercussions on social and economic development.

"One of the factors that most hinders the growth of the territory - Soddu writes again - is the lack of an essential public logistics service such as a rapid railway network, indispensable for the life of the communities, for their well-being and development". The mayor also explains his choice to write to the highest European institution on the matter: «As European citizens we see our right to mobility violated , with all that follows. It is a topic on which we must always keep our attention high, an issue that we must carry forward as the capital, as a territory, as a region. I will appeal to anyone who has the power to intervene to resolve this unacceptable situation , our future depends on it".
