Raffaele Manca made the last gesture of generosity by donating his organs. This was yet another act of love towards others which confirms, if still needed, the human depth that the former mayor of Norbello possessed .

At 2 pm yesterday, when he returned forever to "his" community, the atmosphere was one of emotion and great pain. The body was welcomed by lifelong friends, with eyes swollen from tears and still in disbelief at what happened. To pay homage to the closest people, those with whom he shared many battles . The last was the one in defense of the Delogu hospital, and the presence of a large group of members of the civic committee with flags meant recognition for the wisdom and balance put in place also for this fight in defense of rights. His wife Annalisa cannot rest without moving for a moment next to her husband's coffin, caressing his face imprinted in the image chosen to remember him.

His friend Tino Campus is inconsolable, who had the sad task of being the first to rescue him at the scene of the accident. Dismayed Tore Viola, Gianni Manca, the former mayor Silvio Manca, Quirico Mura , still incredulous for having lost a master.

In the funeral home set up inside the Social Services Center, one of his many creatures , the former mayor of Abbasanta Nando Pinna arrives in tears, his proud friend and adversary when politics was made up of confrontation, even harsh, but never without respect. Throughout the evening there was an uninterrupted procession of administrators, people with whom he had shared the political path, fellow villagers and citizens of many near and far countries.

The former deputy was also remembered in the Chamber by Francesco Mura, who highlighted the figure of a fighter for the territory . It has been decided that the naming of the Committee after the deceased will be proposed at the first useful meeting.

Last farewell to Raffaele Manca on Wednesday 10 May at 4 pm with the civil funeral at the Norbello cemetery.

«The Christian community - affirms the parish priest Father Paolo Contini - will in any case be invited to participate and I myself, as parish priest, will be present. This dear brother of ours has never made a secret of his ideas about faith and religion, but his personal choice has never prevented him from valuing the Christian life and expression of Norbello, his beloved native town. In recent years I have had the opportunity to meet him in the many demonstrations for the defense of the hospital in our area, demonstrations of which he has always been the leader. As parish priest - he adds - I warmly invite the entire Christian community of Norbello to take part in the funeral commemoration to honor and merit the Honorable Raffaele for his efforts also in enhancing the Christian places and traditions of our parish. The intellectual honesty and coherence of our dear brother Raffaele are also plastically represented by the choice of a non-religious funeral. We want to honor him with our presence and we want to express our affection and condolences to the family for the sudden disappearance of an illustrious representative of our territory".
