His town, Torpè , is cut off from the 118 network. And the mayor Martino Sanna lashes out against the regional council and Areus, the regional agency that deals with the emergency-urgency of Sardinia.

«I express extreme concern at the exclusion from the territorial plan of the 118 offices. And it is with great regret that I express profound disappointment with the Regional Council for the promises and commitments not honored with the citizens of Torpè and these territories who risk seeing denied the fundamental right to health, which has already been questioned several times in recent years by policies that are less and less attentive to the rural areas of Sardinia".

The station was there, Areus canceled it with the post-Covid reorganization. "Our municipality - continued the mayor - needs particular attention due to the articulated demographic distribution of the inhabitants who are located, as well as in the historic core of the town, in some hamlets and in many houses scattered throughout the countryside, often several kilometers away from the inhabited centre.

The mayor also recalled that during the Covid pandemic the L a Fenice association was present in Torpè which "covered the 118 service, in an excellent way, giving an excellent service to the population and, sometimes, ensuring decisive interventions to save some people's lives.

The mayor considers it a defeat "once certain levels of assistance have been reached, to go back and deny such an important service especially towards increasingly aging communities and which, as such, need more and certainly not less attention".
