On a day marked by a red flag for heat waves, Cagliari—listed today among the hottest cities by the Ministry of Health—did not record the highest temperature in Sardinia: "only" 40.8 degrees.

The record for the day was instead reached in Jerzu, in Ogliastra, which almost reached 46 degrees (45.8). Similar situations were recorded on the eastern side of the island in Bari Sardo, 45.7 degrees, Osini (44.9) and Tortolì (43.9).

In Oliena, in the Nuoro area, which on Thursday recorded a daily record of 45.8 degrees, the temperature is just above 43 degrees, while in the south, Domus de Maria, which includes the beaches of Chia, recorded 41.7 degrees.

Again, in Fonni, 1,000 meters above sea level, the mercury reached 34.8 degrees, while the "coolest" place was Bosa, on the Oristano coast, with 28.6. The data was published by ARPAS, the Regional Agency for Environmental Protection of Sardinia.
