The cases of Nile fever found in Sardinia have risen to seven: this is reported by the latest bulletin of integrated surveillance published by the Istituto Superiore di Sanità (Iss). The latest infection was detected on a woman from Marrubiu , hospitalized at the Brotzu hospital in Cagliari.

The report arrived at the ASL of Oristano in the evening of the 27th and immediately the Prevention Department reported to the Municipality the presence of the West Nile Disease virus.

The mayor Luca Corrias has issued an ordinance with the rules of conduct imposed on citizens and businesses.

In collaboration with the Province of Oristano, pest control and fight against vector insects will also be launched, "considering that the municipal territory is located in an area affected by significant infestations of mosquitoes responsible for the transmission of viral diseases to humans and horses" .
