A total of 33 migrants were tracked down in a few hours on the coasts of Southern Sardinia , starting at midnight when four were saved from a shipwreck in Pula, in the locality of Is Morus.

They were a few tens of meters from the shore, at the end of the long crossing from North Africa, when at a certain point they were no longer able to steer the boat . Two of them were rescued on the boat by the Carabinieri of the Sarroch Station and by the personnel of the Harbor Master's Office, before being taken to Cagliari. The other two dived into the sea and swam ashore.

Transported in a state of hypothermia to the Policlinico di Monserrato by the 118 health workers, they were discharged at 6 am and taken to the reception center in Monastir. All four said they were Algerians.

Another 13 people were stranded near Solanas beach , among them a minor. The Quartu Sant'Elena Police conducted the operations.

This morning at 4 o'clock another sixteen migrants , 15 men and a woman , were stopped by the Guardia di Finanza immediately after landing in Sant'Antioco .
