Five properties (public) candidates to be transformed into student residences. This is the result of the notice for sending expressions of interest issued in December by the ERSU of Cagliari , which was looking for buildings to buy and use as university accommodation. The regional institution for the right to study, with a resolution by the president Cosimo Ghiani, has also included in the list some buildings already owned by it. All have an area of more than 4,500 square meters. Here is the list:

  • the “Vivanet” building in Via Roma 159, owned by ERSU
  • the administrative headquarters in Corso Vittorio Emanuele n°68, owned by ERSU
  • the building in Via Monte Santo, owned by ERSU
  • the property located in Via Santa Margherita n° 12 in Cagliari, which can be acquired by the University of Cagliari
  • the property called "ex casa del Pensionato" located in via Cilea n° 36-40 in Quartu, which can be acquired by the Municipality of Quartu Sant'Elena.

The offer for the sale of the Clinica Lay, in viale Sant'Ignazio, had also arrived on the table of the board of directors. The large one on the corner with via Palabanda was owned by the Ragazzo family and entered the bankruptcy procedure of the group that belonged to the patron Paolo. However, the trustees are asking for a sum "which the institution does not currently have".

The act approved by the Board of Directors is only the first step. Any identification of the suitable property (still to be bought) would place it alongside the new campus in viale La Plaia (where the second lot is blocked by the superintendency) and the completely new one that ERSU wants to build in via Trentino .
