New stadium: A positive outcome from the City Council meeting with UEFA: "Tender to be completed by June."

Lega president Simonelli: "We hope this can be a reboot for Italian football."The meeting at the City Hall between UEFA, Cagliari Calcio, and the administration lasted just over an hour . And the initial comments are positive: " We're confident we can go to tender by June . From my point of view, the critical issues seem to have been resolved," admitted Paolo Cervini, CEO of Costim Real Estate , who was the first to leave the room.
With him was the president of the Lega Calcio Serie A , Ezio Maria Simonelli : " We hope that a stadium like this can be a new beginning for Italian football . Yesterday I was in Zenica and came back at 4 in the morning to be here. Italy's elimination was a shock."
The delegation, which arrived shortly before 11:30 a.m., was welcomed by Cagliari Mayor Massimo Zedda , his deputy Maria Cristina Mancini, and Councilor for Sport Giuseppe Macciotta. UEFA delegate Michele Uva was also present. Ezio Maria Simonelli, president of the Serie A Football League, was also present.
"We've finalized the various issues and believe we can go to tender by July, meeting UEFA's Euro 2032 requirements," said Massimo Zedda. "The fee isn't a private negotiation: we have constraints based on parameters established by third-party bodies; it will be between €150,000 and €180,000 per year . And Cagliari has agreed to keep the Unipol Domus with a different concession."
Cagliari Calcio's representatives included President Tommaso Giulini , Vice President Maurizio Fiori (representing the new investors who joined the club a few months ago), CEO Stefano Melis, lawyer Antonio Romei (legal advisor), and engineer Alessandro Gosti (technical advisor). Paolo Cervini, CEO of Polifin - Gewiss - Costim Real Estate, and lawyer Francesco Percassi, General Manager of the industrial partner Costim Real Estate, were also present, along with the technicians who participated in the project.
"This is a tremendous opportunity," commented Maurizio Fiori. "We are confident and happy to conclude and continue the process for the European Championships. The stadium will be a tremendous asset for Cagliari to compete globally, which is essential, as we saw yesterday."
