Masainas, the local community expresses its condolences for the 26-year-old soldier who died on his motorcycle: "We are shocked and saddened."

Deepest condolences in Masainas for the death of Simone Convertini , the 26-year-old soldier from Puglia stationed at Capo Teulada, originally from Fasano, who died this morning after losing control of his motorcycle in the town. A young woman on board the motorcycle was seriously injured and taken to Brotzu Hospital .

"The municipal administration and the entire community of Masainas express their deepest condolences," the municipal administration posted on social media. " The violence of the impact and the sudden interruption of such a young life are shocking and deeply saddening . The loss of a young man of just 26 years of age deeply affects our community."

"The family's grief is ours too," the post continues. " Masainas joins us in a silent and respectful embrace , addressed to his parents, his loved ones, and his girlfriend, currently hospitalized at Brotzu." "The municipal administration and the entire community extend their deepest sympathies to the family," the statement concludes.

The mayor, Gian Luca Pittoni , also posted on Facebook an image of a lit candle in memory of the young life lost.
