The new provincial commander of the Cagliari Fire Brigade, Michele Zappia, took office today. He replaces Francesco Orrù, appointed in Perugia.

Zappia, originally from Benestare (in the Reggio area), is 61 years old and has a degree in Civil Engineering. He served as deputy executive director, in Perugia, until May 2005. Subsequently, he was provincial commander in Biella; support manager to the Regional Directorate of the Fire Brigade of Tuscany; provincial commander of the Fire Brigade of Arezzo, Terni, Siena; manager of the Inspection Activity of the National Fire Brigade; executive of the Office of the Head of the National Corps.

In 2017 he was appointed Commander of the Ancona Fire Brigade. From 2018 to 14 September 2021 he was commander of the Perugia Fire Brigade, a post he left to take the reins of the Cagliari Command.
