They had hung clothes artistically in the historic center of Muravera to demonstrate for Palestine with the initiative "In Their Shoes." Some of the clothes in the front row, which were intended to form the Palestinian flags, were torn during the night.

The Domu Mia association reported the vandalism.

"This is an act of vandalism that will not go unpunished," said association president Ninni Santus, "because it doesn't just attack an installation, but the work and heart of the volunteers who built it, and the message of humanity and solidarity it represents."

In addition to the clothes, other flags displayed on Via Speranza and Via Portico have disappeared, along with the anchors they held. "We are not retreating," Santus concluded. "We will continue to defend freedom of expression, collective memory, and the voice of oppressed peoples."
